CAUSES OF ACOUSTIC NEUROMA
The exact cause of acoustic neuroma is not currently known. There is ongoing research at House Ear Clinic and other centers to try to determine the genetic defects that occur in the tumor cells. However, no specific environmental agents have been identified which cause the development of acoustic neuroma.
